George Pratt
George Pratt is an award-winning painter, writer, photographer and filmmaker. His work is included in numerous private collections worldwide. Among the many awards he has received are the Eisner Award for his graphic novels, a Spectrum Gold Medal, the British Speakeasy Award, the France Info Award for his graphic novels and the Best Feature Documentary Award at the New York International Independent Film Festival for the documentary film See You In Hell, Blind Boy.
George’s first graphic novel, Enemy Ace: War Idyll, DC Comics/Warner Books, went through four U.S. editions, was translated into nine languages and was on the required reading list at West Point Military Academy. The book was nominated for the Eisner and Harvey Awards for Best Graphic Novel, as well as the Best Foreign Graphic Novel Award in Angoulême, France, where it won the prestigious France Info Award for Best Foreign Graphic Novel. It also won the SpeakEasy Award for Best Foreign Graphic Novel.
George’s 4-issue mini-series for Marvel Comics, Wolverine: Netsuke, won the Eisner Award for Best Painter.
In addition to his gallery work, his clients include: Warner Books, DC Comics (Batman: Harvest Breed!), Marvel Entertainment, The Criterion Collection, Fantagraphics Books, First Second Books, Playboy, National Geographic, among others. George was honored to be featured in Walt Reed’s The Illustrator in America 1860 – 2000.
